School-wide Professional Development
On Friday, February 26, Abby Cocke, an Environmental Planner with the Baltimore Office of Sustainability, gave a presentation to 38 of Poly's teachers (broken into four groups) at a prescheduled professional development day. The presentation, How and Why to Use Outdoor and Environmental Education to Enhance Learning for All Subjects, taught teachers about:
- The latest research on the benefits of outdoor and environmental education for student learning
- Examples of concrete ways to incorporate these methods of instruction into any subject area
- Ideas for free and low-cost projects and field trips in our area
